About George
I’ve drawn my whole life. My mother was an unrealised artist, and as a young girl, I would watch her doodle faces on yesterday’s newspaper as she talked on the phone.
My ability to draw is of a different sort; I can’t draw faces, but can see tones and shadows which, with countless dots and patience, become something more as a whole. I have always been fascinated with the human form, which is the predominant subject for the majority of my art.
I began stippling as a teenager, letting my mind wander as I methodically dotted thousands of meticulous dots across each page. I also love painting with the intense and versatile Phthalo Blue; one colour, bursting with so many tones, while pulling the rough background into frame to add an extra layer of texture to each artwork.
While I’m not painting and stippling, I also run a global volunteer collective in digital payments called The Nano Foundation while working day to day at universities, in addition to sitting on various advisory boards.
